Difference between clear elastic string in different size

TPU elastic cord has another pretty name called elastic crystal line because of the clear transparent appearance. Transparent color is the natural color of TPU material. When TPU material is processed into round cord, it become glittering and translucent under light.

Generally, TPU elastic cord is used for jewelry making, so many customers call it jewellery elastic cord. However, jewelry elastic string is just one type of TPU cord. That can be used for elastic bracelet is in small diameter such as 0.5 mm or 0.8 mm.

To guarantee the environmental friendly performance of TPU cord, qualified manufacturers won’t add any other additive like elasticizer. Thus, the elasticity of TPU cord is based on the original hardness of TPU material. When TPU cord is in smaller diameter, it has more stretch. On contrast, when TPU cord is in thicker diameter, it has less stretch. Generally, when the diameter of cord reaches to 3 mm, the elasticity can be hardly felt. But there still some customers would like to purchase 3 mm dia cord.

A piece of 3 mm dia TPU cord isn’t suitable for elastic bracelets, but it can be used for fashion waistband, necklace, crystal shoes and bra straps. Besides clear transparent color, TPU cord can be added glitter, or colored in solid colors.
