After all, TPU elastic tape helps knitwear to avoid easily getting out of shape. So TPU tape is usually one item in clothes manufacturers’ purchasing lists. Especially for famous brands. However, TPU tape isn’t necessary for each type of clothes. For example, garments those are not easy to get of shape such as jackets, winter clothes and shirt suits don’t need to be sewed TPU tape on. So even staffs work in apparel factory may don’t know TPU clear elastic tape. Then some purchasers have a question: why there some particles on TPU tape?

Actually, the particles on clear tape are the dull polish granules. With the particles, the TPU elastic tape owns matte appearance. Of course, the matte appearance isn’t the most important thing. That’s only the product standard helps masters evaluate whether the tape owns the best performance. Because TPU tape will be in different appearance and transmissivity when processed in different temperature or used different types of materials. The main function of dull polish granules is enhancing the mechanical property of TPU tape.

TPU is a kind of elastomer, which owns extension originally. The transparent TPU tape without any particles owns resilience of 1:1.5, which is popular for invisible clear bra straps. But when comes to knitwear shaping, TPU tape without particles does not have enough elasticity to match the requirement. Therefore, dull polish granules are supposed to be added. Within the granules, TPU tape becomes much more flexible and owns larger resilience.

However, one point should be noticed. The particles are all become parts of TPU tape, they are totally melted in the tape. If you found that some powder or little particles which are easily be moved from TPU tape to your hands, the tape must get bad or come some quality problems.
