What will affect TPU tape price?

Mobilon tape also named TPU tape and framilon tape, which is a kind of clear elastic tape for garment uses. At the beginning, mobilon tape is developed by Nisshinbo and have high price. As time goes by, more and more enterprises can produce TPU tape. Thus mobilon tape price is not as expensive as before.

However, though mobilon tape has lower price compared with the past it did because of supply-demand relationship, we can also find a large gap of TPU tape price. Why? Here we list some factors.

1. Raw material

Raw material is the main reason that affect the price of TPU tape. The reclaimed raw material is the cheapest material. Even the TPU tape manufacturers don’t know what’s the composition of the reclaimed material. TPU tape made from this cheap material will has unstable performance and be easy to break, turn yellow or release powder. Yunze (hdtape) has three main types of TPU elastic tape: B Series, D Series and S Series. B Series is made from Taiwan material, D Series is made from Germany material and S Series is made from Japan material. The better the raw material is, the higher the price is, of course, the better the quality is.

TPU raw material is the main composition. Another composition is the granule on tape. High quality granule will merge with TPU better. Than it will makes TPU tape as better hand-feeling and resilience.

2. Technology

Besides raw material, technology of manufacturers is also very important. For example, the general specification of TPU elastic is 4012, 5012, 6012 and 8012. But some customers may need 2018 or tape in width 50 mm. Only manufacturers who have stable and high technology can produce such a narrow or wide TPU tape.

Moreover, even if the general size, high technology can offer stable size tape and makes the raw material to release its best performance. So sometimes we may find that two pieces of tape made from the same material in the same size own different elasticity. That’s the effect of technology.

3. Service
