TPU tape shaping

As a practitioner of apparel industry, we all know that TPU tape is used for clothes shaping. But before packaging and shipment, TPU tape should also be shaped to show its best performance. Why TPU tape should be shaped? When mobilon tape produced just now, the molecular structure of TPU tape is not stable enough. If you have a piece of TPU tape that just produced, stretch it. Then you will find that clear tape is too soft to bounce back. Moreover, the tape will be more easy to break. Therefore, shaping is necessary for TPU tape.

Generally, there are two ways to shape mobilon tape. The first way is store. After packed in plastic bag or roll, store the TPU tape in sealed cartons. Then put the cartons in a cool and dry warehouse. Few weeks later, the stored TPU tape can reach its best performance. However, shaping by store will ask for a large storage space, which is a large cost in a high-house-price place especially. Besides, the large time cost will must increase delivery time.

The second way to shape TPU elastic tape is tempering. Put the rolling TPU tape into oven in 60 degrees. Forty-five minutes later, the residual moisture in TPU tape has evaporated while the molecular structure of TPU tape is stable enough. Then the after-tempering TPU tape can be packed and transported directly. Some ask how about tempering in 90 degrees or for two hours. Actually, no matter too-high temperature or too-long time will lead to sticky clear tape, which destroys the performance of TPU tape.
