Use clear elastic to stabilize knits

It’s known to all that knit wears are easy to get out of shape after washing and pulling again and again. It refers to the woven way of knit wears. So apparel designers and manufacturers has found many solutions to solve the problem. And one of popular ways is using clear elastic TPU tape.

TPU tape, also named mobilon tape or framilon tape, is made from TPU raw material. Because of the feature of TPU raw material, TPU tape is elastic and clear transparent. Therefore, TPU tape can be invisible when sewed in knits.

When it comes to the way of using clear elastic to stabilize knits, different type of TPU tape should be used at different parts. For example, the most regular usage is sewing TPU tape on shoulder part of T-shirt. We recommend HD5012B, HD5012D and HD5012S. Tape in 6 mm width is also worked. But choosing B, D or S Series is up to customers’ requirement for quality.

However, some knits may has different needs because of their design. A long type knitting shirt may be out of shape not only at shoulder part but also at body part after hanging. So TPU tape will be used at shoulder part and the two sewing lines of body. We recommend S Series. Because S Series has enough elasticity and resilience to support a long type knitwear.

Some clothes are designed with wrinkle and laciness at neckline or cuff. We also recommend high elastic S Series TPU tape. The clear elastic helps neckline or cuff be expandable, which makes the clothes become easy to be put on or taken off.

TPU tape has its regular usage for garment shaping, but designers are creating more usage of TPU tape. Let’s wait and see.
