Use TPU tape rather than TPU film for sandals

Clear elastic strap is widely used for fashion sandals. Generally, there are two material for clear band: TPU and PVC. Whether choose TPU material or PVC one is up to the profit. In another word, the sandals with higher quality will have higher price. After all, PVC material costs less than TPU.

Because of the eco-friendly feature of TPU material, PVC clear band is replaced by TPU band step by step. It also refers to that more and more countries update plastic environmental-friendly Standards.

Even for TPU band, there are also two types: extruded TPU tape and cut TPU film tape. Extruded TPU tape is moulding directly, so that we can get a piece of TPU tape from the machine. But cut TPU film tape is cut from a whole piece of film just as its name implies. If the clear band is used for decoration, whether choose extruded TPU tape or TPU film tape is doesn’t matter. If it is used for sandals as functional bands, extruded TPU tape will be better.

Why? It relates to the the production technique. Extruded TPU tape will have obtuse edges while cut TPU film tape will have angular edges. When be used on sandals, clear TPU band must touch ladies’ feet skin. Of course obtuse edge band will be comfortable than angular edge one when walking with clear band sandals. Therefore, even some purchasers choose cut TPU film tape at the beginning, they change to choose extruded TPU tape.
